A. "Blackie" Blackmon

A. G. “Blackie” Blackmon, 83, Altus, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Private family services with military honors will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blackmon family plot in Wilsonville, Alabama. A. G. was born on July 7, 1929 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Acie Gordon and Cora Blackmon. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after serving 21 years. Survivors include his wife, Augusta (Shotts) Blackmon, of the home; his previous wife of 20 years, Mary Blackmon, of Altus, Oklahoma; two daughters, Linda Cartwright and husband, Ron, of Altus, Oklahoma, and Debbie Banister and husband, Sonny, of Ozark, Missouri; two brothers, Jimmy Blackmon and wife, Maxine, of Wilsonville, Alabama, and Robert Blackmon and wife, Alice, of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Jean Bahan and Deanna Jones; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Blackmon; his grandchildren, great- grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Bubba. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry Blackmon, and a brother, Rodney Blackmon.
