Albert "Sonny" Lopez

Albert Earl "Sonny" Lopez, 60, formerly of Altus, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home in Austin, Texas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Joe Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Sonny was born on October 11, 1954 to Henry G. and Lela J. (Ellis) Lopez in Clinton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1974 and had taken classes at Western Oklahoma State College. While in Altus, Sonny worked in commercial and residential construction. After moving to Austin, he worked for CTS Cable Company than began his own business as an installer with Time Warner Cable. Sonny also worked security for Austin City Limits and Rot Rally of Texas. For the last 12 years, he worked for John Dyezz at Dyezz Surveillance, a commercial security company. He enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing and boating, as well as his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Sonny was of the Catholic faith. Sonny is preceded in death by his father, Henry Lopez, a brother, Earnest Lopez, and a sister, Tess Lopez Harris. He is survived by his mother, Lela Lopez; a sister, Anita M. Zein of Altus, OK; two brothers, Ronald Lopez and wife, Cris, of Pflugerville, TX and Genaro Lopez of Austin, TX; he also leaves behind his three children, Emilie, Mariah and Michael. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in the family's name to Kincannon Funeral Home, 3020 N. Main Street, Altus, OK 73521. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
