Alma Leticia Briscoe

Alma Leticia Briscoe entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 62. Born to Monceis Bara and Carolina (Rosas) Bara in Muleshoe, Texas, on February 6, 1963, Alma was one of 10 siblings. The family relocated to Altus where she attended school, graduating with the Class of 1984.

On July 12, 1989, Alma married Timmie Briscoe in Altus. The young couple made their home in the area and while raising two daughters. A dedicated mother, Alma worked as a house painter most of her adult life, a career path that allowed her to be present for her daughters during their formative years.

Alma had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and treasured any moment spent with her family, especially during picnics and gatherings. She was a passionate fan of the Texas Rangers and San Francisco and enjoyed trips to the casino.

Her parents, Monceis and Carolina; infant sister, Carolina Bara; sister, Rosalinda Salomon; and brothers, Freddy Plata and Ramiro Bara preceded her in death. Alma’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in her husband of almost 36 years, Timmie of their home in Lawton; daughters, Ashley Jasso and husband Mario, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Amber Gibbs and husband, Robert of Lawton; grandchildren, Jasmin Jasso and Mario Jasso, III of Oklahoma City and Taliyah Gibbs and Tamia Gibbs of Lawton; great-grandson, Roman Sayovong; siblings, Roy Plata and wife, Lupe, David Bara and wife, Mary Lou, Elsa Garcia and husband, Perfecto, Sr., Erma Fortenberry and husband, Tim, and Eva Reyes; mother-in-law, Linda Briscoe; and an abundance of other family and many friends.

The family will formally greet friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26th. Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 27th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
