Ann Fleming, 79, Elmer, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at the English Village Manor. Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Victory Cemetery, west of Altus, Oklahoma, with Chris Milner officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Ann Tillman was born on February 29, 1940 to Rollin C. and Alma Wynell "Nell" (Baughier) Tillman in Duke, Oklahoma. She attended Victory School and graduated from Duke High School with the Class of 1958. Ann promised her father she would get a college degree and she did. She attended Altus Junior College and later graduated from Western Oklahoma State College and Cameron University in 1988. Ann raised her baby brother after her mom had a stroke. She had a crash course in cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her Mom, Grandmother and Brother when she was ten years old. Ann and Charles Fleming were united in marriage on December 15, 1961 in her Uncle Glen's living room in Duke. Ann owned and operated the A & N Cafe and Farmer's Roost Cafe in Duke, OK. She was a member of the Who's Who of American Business Women and the Gold Star Wives. Before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and was a wonderful painter and sculptor. She always treasured her time with family and was a practical joker.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, brother, J. Harrell Tillman, sister, Donna Kay Tillman, and granddaughter, Kristi Fleming.
She leaves behind two daughters, Robin Fleming and Danielle Fleming; a son, John Fleming; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Hayley Fleming; a niece, Laura Delamar and husband, Robert; four nephews, Jeff Tillman and wife, Julie, Sammie "Gene" Tillman, Harrell "Lynn" Tillman and Ronnie Rodriguez; and three great nieces and nephews, Megan, Justin and Payton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Kincannon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
