Arlene Mae Rowlett, 91, Altus, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Altus Restlawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Arlene Mae Bennett was born July 28, 1923 in Altus, Oklahoma to Homer and Audra (Myers) Bennett. She attended school in Headrick, Oklahoma. She married Clarence Willard Rowlett on April 8, 1939 at the Central Christian Church in Mangum, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising the children and helping out on the farm. Arlene was a long time member of the Altus First Baptist Church who also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deloris K. Banister; grandson, Richard Banister; one sister, Mildred Beck; and four brothers, Albert, Velson, A.C. and Lawrence Bennett. Arlene is survived by a daughter, Joyce J. Parrent of Key West, FL; a son, Max D. Rowlett and wife Mary of Lawton, OK; five grandchildren, LaCinda McCormack and husband Steve of Blackville, SC; Cheryl Wheeler and husband Ron of Key West, FL; Billy Banister and wife Darcy of Honea Path, SC; Nikki Chichester and husband Gary of LeRoy, NY; Darrell Rowlett and wife Melody of OKC, OK; twelve great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and several special friends.
