Arthur Ray Jefferson “Jeff” King, 94, Altus, died Friday, October 26, 2012 at English Village Manor in Altus. Funeral services will 10 am Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Altus City Cemetery Centennial Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow services in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Jeff King was born November 9, 1917 in Marcella, Arkansas to John Arthur and Cora (Forshee) King. His family moved to the Rocky / Cordell, Oklahoma area when he was a small child. He grew up in that area and helped out on the family farm. He married Virginia Louise Berry February 24, 1937 in a community church near Rocky, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He worked in Civil Service for the United States Government from 1956 until his retirement in 1983. He attended the First Assembly of God in Altus, enjoyed going out to the farm, working outside in his yard, trading cars, OU Football, visiting at the coffee shops and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dorman; two brothers, Burnal and Conway and three sisters, Beatrice, Evalee and Daphne, and brother-in-law, Allen Hurst. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 75 years; son Larry King and wife, Boni, of Altus, OK; daughter-in-law, Louise King of Altus, OK; four grandchildren, Rhonda Dusenberry and husband Robert of Altus, OK; John King and wife Angie of Vernon, TX; Randy King and wife Stacey of Russelville, AR; Jeffrey King of Altus, OK; six great grandchildren, Katy, Keaton, Khloe, Dakota, Hunter David and Alison; great granddaughter, Charley; a sister, Willie Belle Hurst of Altus, and many friends.
