Audean L. Helms, 88, long time Eldorado resident, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bruce Harkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Audean L. McCown was born on October 1, 1924 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Woody Warren and Lizzie May (Huckabay) McCown. She grew up in Eldorado and graduated from Eldorado High School. She married C.B. Harkins in Eldorado on September 19, 1943. He passed away on December 7, 1976. She then married Lloyd Helms in January of 1996 in Eldorado. He passed away in December of 2002. She was a member of the Eldorado Church of Christ. Audean enjoyed sewing, water exercise, cooking, and caring for her children and grandchildren. Her parents, husbands, two grandchildren, Jeff and Jennifer Harkins, and a sister, Modell Hulett, preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Graham and husband, Jim, of Lake Ariel, PA; two sons, Joe Harkins and wife, Linda, of Altus, OK, and Bruce Harkins and wife, Polly, of Shawnee, KS; five grandchildren, Heather Curry and husband, David, Ben Harkins and wife, Sara, Lori Story, Jill McLelland and husband, Brian, and Chris Story; nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Travis and Logan Curry, Ian and Ellie McLelland, Josie, Audrey and Preslie, and Scarlet Harkins and Mathew Story; a sister, Jolene Haines of Fort Worth, TX; and a brother, Doyle McCown of Oklahoma City, OK. The Helms family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, in the Kincannon Gathering Room. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tipton Childrens Home.
