Audy D. Edwards, 83, Eldorado, passed away at his home Sunday, April 3, 2022 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Grant Street Church of Christ in Liberal, Kansas with Skip Francis officiating. Burial will follow at the Forgan Cemetery, Oklahoma, under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Altus, Oklahoma.
Audy Dean Edwards was born October 5, 1938 in Liberal, Kansas to Arthur B. and Mamie L. (Miller) Edwards. He graduated from Liberal High School and married Dorothy Sallee on March 3, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico. Audy began working as a finish carpenter in Liberal, then spent over 30 years as a warehouseman for the Nash Finch Grocery Warehouse in Liberal. Later, he worked for Seward County Community College in the maintenance division until his retirement in 2001. Audy was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. He was a motorcycle and airplane enthusiast – owning several motorcycles over the years and a Cessna 150. Audy also enjoyed fishing and woodworking as well as time spent with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Aaron Anderson; his daughter-in-law, Lenora Edwards; and his brother, Karold Thomas.
Audy is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Opal Villines and husband, Larry; three sons, Michael Edwards; Terry Edwards and wife, Judy; and Joel Edwards and wife, Diana; fourteen grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Joshua, Katrina, Jeremy, Colby, Austin, Ben, Carrie, Timothy, Katy, Jeffrey, Tabitha and Rebekah; thirteen great grandchildren and many friends.
