Barbara Anne Wilson, 79, of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, passed away in Hobart, Oklahoma Thursday morning, September 1, 2011. Graveside services will be held 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Barbara was born May 23, 1932 in Miami, Texas. She was raised by Lawrence and Corrinne E. (Small) Carruth of Tipton, Oklahoma. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1950. She married Vernon Wilson September 19, 1951 in Snyder, Oklahoma. Barbara worked Civil Service, first at Ft. Sill, then at Altus Air Force Base, retiring in 1978 after thirty-two years of service. She was a member of Snyder Church of Christ; a lifetime member of The Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 4876, serving as State Secretary; President of Kiowa County Water Board for 10 years and lived at Boydville from 1982 to present. She enjoyed reading, animals, crossword puzzles, Dallas Cowboy football, gardening, bingo, camping and being the camp host of North Shore Lake Altus. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Vernon, in 2005. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Donna Nutter and husband, David, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Terri Carnes and husband, Kelly, of Alamogordo, New Mexico; two sons, Larry Wilson and wife, Beverly, and Jerry Wilson and wife, Rhonda, all of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Sam; three sisters, Darlene, Katherine, and Eula; ten grandchildren, Chad, Brad, Daniel, Jaramie, Jacob, Dustin, Kas, Holli, Jade, Josh, four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Addison, Mason, and Payton and a host of friends. The family will host and visitation for family and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 4876 Ladies Auxiliary or the American Cancer Society.
