Billy C. Eaves, 84, Altus, passed away at his home, Monday evening, August 29, 2011. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Altus City Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Suiter officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Billy C. Eaves was born on March 11, 1927 in Central City, Kentucky to John and Agnes (Williams) Eaves. He grew up in Louisiana and graduated from high school in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Centenary College in Shreveport and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Math. He served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years and retired as a Master Sergeant on May 31, 1970. He received numerous awards including the Air Force Longevity Service Award, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Air Force Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. After his retirement, he worked as a surveyor for ten years. He, also, bought houses to fix them up and sell them. He married Barbara Collier in 2003 in Vernon, Texas. He was a loving and caring husband and loved being in his garden. He liked to tinker in his shop and made friends with all the neighborhood kids. He was especially known for making his rounds around town, catching up on the latest news from his many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home, six daughters, a brother, John, a sister, Mary, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
