Billy Joe Griffin

Billy Joe Griffin, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Altus City Cemetery with Ricky Lipscomb and De Jones officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Billy Joe was born March 16, 1935 in Paris, TX to Nora Leola Woods and Clement Griffin. He married the love of his life, Rita Mae White, and fathered four children. He lost his wife, Rita, on October 15, 1956 and never remarried. Mr. Griffin was a civil service worker at Altus Air Force Base for over twenty-five years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Rita Mae, of Vernon, TX, and one great great-grandson, Cincere Sims, of Orlando, FL. He is survived by his three daughters, Lynda Griffin of Dallas, TX, Debra Peoples of Desoto, TX, and Shirley Sims of Dallas, TX; one son, Larry Griffin, of Okmulgee, OK; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
