Bobbye Ruth Ebel, 96, formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away in Edmond on November 25, 2023. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
In solemn remembrance, we honor the life of Bobbye Ruth (Duncan) Ebel, born on September 15, 1927, in Paris, Texas, to Clyde and Stella Duncan. After traversing various places, the family found a home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Bobbye's journey included graduating high school in 1945 and embarking on a career with Western Union, where she received management training in Lawton, OK, Albuquerque and Tucumcari, NM, Springfield, MO, and Amarillo, TX. Amidst these travels, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Dale Ebel.
Settling in South Sioux City, Nebraska, Bobbye welcomed two cherished children, Richard Jr. and Maria Elizabeth. Her professional endeavors included an 18-year tenure as a beautician, followed by a commendable 20-year career in real estate, where she served as both agent and broker.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bobbye devoted herself to community service as a Girl Scout/Brownie troop leader, a member of the HobbyCraft Extension Club, and the Worthy Matron of Laura Chapter of OES.
In the embrace of fond memories, Bobbye is survived by her son, Richard and his wife, Debra Leflett Ebel and daughter Maria and her husband, Paul Barr. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Brandon and Brody Ebel and Brooke Barr Armstrong, along with six great-grandchildren, Blake and Audrey Ebel, Samantha and Rowen Ebel, and Tate and Breck Armstrong. May her spirit rest in eternal peace.
