Bonnie Lou Ford, 76, Altus, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at English Village Manor. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Bonnie was born April 12, 1935 in Jackson County, Oklahoma to Woodrow Wilson and Opal Ivan (Ledbetter) Spradlin. She started school at Prairie Hill and moved to Wilson School in Altus starting in the third grade. Her family moved to Richmond, California where she attended fourth through eighth grade. They then moved back to Martha, Oklahoma where she finished school. She married Milton Lee Salmon in 1951 in Vernon, Texas. Three children were born to this union. Mr. Salmon preceded her in death and she married Edwin Ray Ford in 1979 in Altus, Oklahoma. She worked at the Broadway United Gift Shop in the mid 1970’s and rode with her husband for about three years while he was driving a truck. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus. She enjoyed cleaning and decorating her home and had always wanted to be an interior decorator. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a brother Jerry Bob Spradlin and two sisters, Beverly Darcy and Veda Eiler. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Diane McKnight of Austin, TX; Kelly Lee Caraway of San Antonio, TX; a son, Daryl Salmon of Stratford, TX; one sister, Sandra Shaw of Altus, OK; several nieces and nephews including, Raymond Edgell, Altus, OK; one brother, Jimmy Don Spradlin of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
