Brenda Gay Petzold, 71, Altus, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Larry Miller and BJ Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Navajo Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Brenda Gay Campbell was born on January 13, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma to R.C. and Nellena Faye (Marsh) Campbell. She attended and graduated from Altus High School and married David Petzold on July 12, 1967. She was very active in the churches she attended, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Henrietta Cowboy Church and Faith Lutheran Church. She also assisted with ministry at the jail. Brenda was a homemaker for many years, raising her kids and helping David with racehorses, greyhounds and farming. Brenda worked for several years at the Altus Chamber of Commerce as Tourism Director, and later helped her son run the Petzold Building business in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to read and entertain her grandchildren and great grandchildren with camping excursions and many other things.
Survivors include her husband, David, of the home; three daughters, Amber Hixon and husband, Richard; Dusty Petzold; and Tacara Mardis and husband, Matt; a son, Talyan Petzold and wife, Cheri; nine grandchildren, Evan and Hunter Hixon; Lane Petzold; Chancie fielder and husband, Jeff; Chilo, Talayna and Laramie Petzold; Cutter and Cotton Mardis; great grandchildren, Jensen Middleton, Beckham Fielder and Everleigh Petzold; one brother, Cooper Campbell and many friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Nellina and Andy Anderson; her father and stepmother, R.C. and Modean Campbell and her sister, Nancy Fox.
The Petzold family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
