Brian C. O'Hair

Brian C. O'Hair, 75, Altus, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his home. A Celebration of Life service with United States Air Force Honor Guard Honors has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating. Inurnment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Altus City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Brian C. O'Hair was born February 18, 1941 to Robert Craig and Marjorie (Van Alstyne) O'Hair in Elmhurst, Illinois. As a child Brian attended 14 schools, including four boarding schools, and had lived with each of his grandmothers for several years. During his school years, he had traveled with his mother to Denmark, Sweden, France and French Indo-China. He graduated from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 1959. Brian entered the United States Air Force in September of 1959. He worked as a medical laboratory technician for most of his Air Force career to include spending 1970 in Vietnam at Cam Rhan Air Force Base where he also enjoyed scuba diving. He was honorably discharged April 1, 1982 with the rank of Captain. Brian and Patricia A. Knudsen were united in marriage on November 5, 1960 in Biloxi, Mississippi. To this union four children were born. Brian worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital as a medical Lab Tech for 24 years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Altus, Oklahoma and served as an Elder as well. Brian also was a member of the WAG (Weight Accountability Group.) Brian enjoyed writing novels, taking walks, and his pets, normally Boston Terriers.
Brian is preceded in death by his father; grandsons, Michael Patrick O'Hair, age four years old, Jason Craig and Johnathan Workman, both infants, and a granddaughter, Amanda Ashlie O'Hair, also an infant.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia O'Hair of the home; mother, Marjorie Contessa; daughter, Linda Workman of Wichita Falls, TX; sons, Brian O'Hair and wife, Michele, of Vista, CA, Daniel O'Hair and wife, Jane, of Azle, TX, and Bruce O'Hair and wife, Patricia, of Van Alstyne, TX. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Christina Grimsely, Ashlei, David, Gary and Geoffery O'Hair, Justin and April Workman and Christopher, Patrick and Jonah O'Hair; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Heather Contessa, of Crestone, CO.
Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
