Burgess C. Bradford, 71, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery Veterans Section under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Burgess C. Bradford was born on February 16, 1947 in Huntsville, Alabama to Eddie Lee Bradford, Sr. and Dorothy (Wade) Bradford. He served in the United States Marine Corps from March of 1966 to March of 1970. He served during Vietnam and received numerous awards including the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Service Medal with one star, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device, and the National Defense Service Medal. Burgess married Linda Brown in April of 1983 in Altus, Oklahoma. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed working on stuff and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Quincy Lamont Brown; and two brothers, Curtis Dale Bradford and Clyde Bradford.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown; three sons, De'Carlos Bradford, Jaamal Brown (Nora) and Andre Bradford; eleven grandchildren, Sesilee, Devron, Jamea, Quindon, Audemar, Vivicia, Terrell, Aureliana, Devante, Zi and Kasharah; two sisters, Angelia Bradford and Yolanda Garner (James); three brothers, Eddie Lee Bradford, Jr. (Angeline), Paul Bradford and William Bradford and many friends.
