Burris Clarence Price, 82, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Monday, June, 30 2014 at his home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Frederick Cemetery with Les Banks officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma. Burris C. Price was born August 13, 1931 in Nocona, Texas to Burnice and Rosa (Huff) Price. He graduated at Tipton High School with the class of 1950. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 23, 1952 and served in Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; the United Nations Service Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the ROK Presidential Unit Citation; the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Good Conduct Medal. Corporal Price was honorably discharged from the service on September 8, 1954. He was an electronics technician who began working at Tinker Air Force Base in 1962. Mr. Price married Eleanor Chesser July 2, 1966 in Frederick, Oklahoma. In 1979 he went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City and retired in 1991. He was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Mr. Price had attended Oklahoma City Community College ; enjoyed restoring old cars; playing guitar; singing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Orene Rogers; six brothers, Justin, John, Boyd, Guy, Ray and JJ Price and a brother-in-law, Joe Knapp. Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one sister, Reba Price Knapp of Newcastle, OK; five sisters-in-law, Anita Pothorst of Altus, OK; Ollie Price of Altus, OK; Dorothy Stokes and husband Mel of Altus, OK; Alma Hayes and husband Ken of Broken Arrow, OK; Phyllis Erwin of Ardmore, OK; three brothers-in-law, Leon Chesser and wife Dee of Fort Worth, TX; Billy Chesser and wife Linda of Frederick, OK; James Chesser and wife Hope of Murphy, TX and many friends. The Price family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
