Carl James Perry, 83, Friendship, passed away Thursday morning, October 11, 2012 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Madison Clinton officiating. Burial will follow services at the Navajoe Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Carl J. Perry was born on February 11, 1929 in Friendship, Oklahoma to Orville J. and Mildred M. (Toler) Perry. He attended the Warren School for his first five years and then finished his schooling at the Friendship School. He married Rosline Mae Hall on May 31, 1947 in Vernon, Texas. To this union two children were born. Carl was in the National Guard, 45th Infantry Division. He worked many years for Jackson County as a Work Foreman for District One before retiring. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Carl helped out the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, volunteered at the Salvation Army soup kitchen, and was a member of the Hobart Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed restoring old tractors, collecting toy farm machines, and working on small engines. He also liked to grow and give away turnips to his many friends and neighbors. His parents, Orville and Mildred Perry; wife, Rosline Perry, and a sister, Betty Marie Duncan, preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Donnie C. Perry and wife, Charlotte R., of Altus, Oklahoma; a daughter, Diana G. Robins and husband, Harold R., of Altus, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Dustin James Robins of Oklahoma City, OK, Carl Ryan Perry of Altus, OK, Catelyn Ruth Perry of Chickasha, OK; and many friends. The Perry family will greet friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Saturday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department in care of Madison Clinton.
