Carol Ann Muncy, 69, Altus, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Erin Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Carol Ann Campbell was born July 9, 1948 in Beardstown, Illinois to Lester and Theora (Steele) Campbell. She attended school in Rushville, Illinois, then moved to Mesa, Arizona with her family, where she graduated high school. Carol continued her education at nursing school in Tucson, Arizona, attaining her certification as a Registered Nurse. She married Don Muncy May 6, 1965 in Mesa, Arizona. Carol had worked in the nursing field for many years, including serving as a hospice nurse for Jackson County Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2010. She was of the Baptist faith. Carol was a real do-it-yourself person who didn't shy away from any home project. Simply put, Carol would try doing anything herself first before calling for help. She also enjoyed gardening, home decorating, mystery movies and detective shows.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Mary Dodds.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Vega; two sons, Mark Muncy and Paul Muncy and wife Cynthia; six grandchildren, Tia Leeanna Vega, Marrisa Vega, Justin Muncy, Dillon Muncy, Katherine Grace Muncy and Jacob Muncy; great granddaughter, Mylee Vega; one sister, Virginia Allen and husband, Joe; and many other family members, neighbors and friends.
