Carol Ann Rico

Carol Ann Rico, 72, Altus, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Leonard Head officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Carol was born April 30, 1950 to James Orville and Cora Mae (Call) Thomas in Okeene, Oklahoma. She graduated from High School with the Class of 1968. Carol worked most of her adult life as a home health caregiver, retiring in 2012. She married Avey Rico on June 9, 2012 in Clinton, Oklahoma, the same year they moved to Altus. Carol was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed walking at Wal Mart with Avey, after which they would go to Happy Donuts for coffee and donuts, which explains the earlier walk at Wal Mart. Carol also enjoyed playing computer games, watching old classic TV Shows and horses, since she grew up on a farm.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, James Orville and Cora Mae Thomas; two daughters, Cathy Knight and Jackie Carter; She is survived by her husband, Avey Rico; her son, Delbert Shropshire and wife, Jan of Mustang, OK; her sisters, Sharon Kay Robinson and husband, Guy of Cleo Springs, OK; Shirley Keeton of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho and Diana Gent and husband, Jerald of Grandfield, TX; her brothers, James Thomas of Longdake, OK; Rusty Thomas and wife, Mary of Fairview, OK; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family by marriage, including, three daughters, Judy De La O and husband, Alfonso; Dora Haga and husband, Richard; and Alice Tautenhahn and husband, Ed; two sons, Pat and Al Rico and many friends.
The Rico family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
