Chandra Lynn (Darling) Roman (63) entered into eternal life on July 13, 2024. Chandra was born in Roseville, California on July 27, 1960, to Jerry E. and Virginia (Krout) Darling of Rocklin, California. She graduated from Del Oro High School before studying Christian Education at Western Apostolic Bible College in Stockton, California. While at WABC she met her first husband, Daniel MacRae. They married on December 7, 1979, and to this union Rachel, Debbie, and David were born.
After Daniel passed away, God brought Ronald “Ron” Roman into their lives. Ron and Chandra married on December 30, 1989, in Granby, Connecticut. Their family expanded with children, Jonathan and Joy. Chandra was an active member of True Life Church in Altus. She had a heart for young people and spent many years coaching a Bible quizzing team and teaching teen Sunday School. She and Ron were the dorm deans for the UPCI OK District Camp-meeting. Chandra had a deep passion for helping others and continually shared encouraging words, Scriptures, and songs. She was a licensed American Sign Language interpreter. She loved being active in the deaf community. Chandra was a voracious reader and a skilled genealogical researcher. She loved to be surrounded by family, talking, laughing, and playing games.
Chandra passed peacefully at her home in Altus. She was preceded in death by parents, Jerry Darling and Virginia Gibbs; first husband, Daniel MacRae; son, David MacRae; and son-in-law, James Watt. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ron Roman; brothers, Butte Darling and Chris Darling; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Nathan Arney of Yukon, OK and their children, Nathan, Zayden, Malachi, Kaylia, and Daniel; daughter, Debbie Watt of Glenpool, OK; son, Jonathan Roman of Altus; and daughter and son-in-law, Joy and David Coder of Dallas, TX.
Public viewing will begin Friday, July 19th. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, July 22nd, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23rd, in the Memorial Chapel with Pastor Michael Wright and Assistant Pastor Mark Reuter officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online tributes may be made at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
