Charles Davis

Gilbert Charles Davis, lovingly known as Charles to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly, on February 6, 2025, in Duke, Oklahoma, at the age of 64.

Charles was born on December 15, 1960, in Taylor, Texas, to Gilbert Ralph Davis and Arlene Ann Applen. While he spent much of his life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he later settled in Gould, Oklahoma, where he found a community, he loved. Charles was a dedicated tow truck driver and mechanic, and his skill and passion for his work were evident throughout his career. He was also an avid dirt track racing enthusiast, enjoying the thrill of the sport during the 80s and early 90s.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Ann Applen, his father, Gilbert Ralph Davis, and his sister, Theda Davis.

Left to cherish his memory are his four beloved children, James McDonald, Brooke Douglas, Christopher Maiden, and Brittany Spradlin; ten grandchildren, Cindy, Ethan, Jaydon, Ava, Rilynn, Silas, Sawyer, Tatum, Knox, and Lenard-Joe; and brother, Skip Davis.

Charles will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

A Celebration to Honor the life of Charles will be held at Kincannon Memorial Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma, on March 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
