Charles E. "Bud" Duke, 89, Mangum, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Graveside services have been scheduled for 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Altus City Cemetery with Erin Martinez officiating. Burial has been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Charles Edward Duke was born on June 30, 1927 to Chalmer and Ida (Mutz) Duke in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. After high school, Bud served his country first in the United States Navy and then the United States Army. He served in World War II and Korea, where he became a Purple Heart Recipient. Bud and Judy Harrison were united in marriage on November 9, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a businessman and owner of Duke's Trading Post by Lake Altus for twenty years. He later became a full time rancher. Bud was an avid OU sports fan.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lillye Duke; and a sister, Pat McDowell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Judy; a son, Chris Duke and wife Mary Ann; and a daughter, Micki White; two grandchildren, Taylor and Stephen Duke; and a sister, Juanita Smith.
