Charles Terry Hubanks, known by all as “Terry” and life-long resident of Hollis Oklahoma, passed away in Amarillo, Texas in the early morning of Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 3rd, at Fairmount Cemetery with Randy Overstreet officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Terry was born on November 16, 1944, in Hollis to James Henry and Della Margarite (Holloman) Hubanks. Terry attended school in Hollis and graduated with the Class of 1964. He volunteered to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force and faithfully served until receiving a medical discharge. Terry married Barbara Jo Johnson on March 25, 1978, in Hollis and they shared 46 wonderful years together before she passed away in June 2024. Terry was a barber all his adult life, owning a shop in Hollis and serving the community he dearly loved.

Terry was a member of the Faith Baptist Church where he was called to serve as the song leader. He enjoyed playing dominos, bingo and pool on the computer. He liked to watch televised sports, especially University of Oklahoma events. Terry could be found taking long walks around the community with his sidekick, Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, James and Della; brother, James Barry Hubanks, sisters, Margaret McAlpine and baby sister, JoAnne Hubanks; nephews, Michael Lynn Hubanks and Kevin Nation; in-laws, Lee and Christine (Bush) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Fritz and Wayne Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Snookie Hughey and Betty Lou Allen.

Those left to honor Terry’s memory are his brother, George Hubanks and wife, Joyce; sister, Judith Ann Nation; nieces, Joyce Delene Hubanks, Sherry Douvry, Lisa DaLuz, and Heather Lynn Hubanks; nephews, Patrick Donald Hubanks, Ross McAlpine, and Scott McAlpine; many friends; and his beloved dog, Dixie.
