Charles Ray "Pop" Paxton, 59, Hollis, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Harmon Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Hollis First Baptist Church with Bro. Kent Shirley officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Charles was born on June 24, 1958 in Altus, Oklahoma to Earl and Mardena (Prock) Whitson. After high school, he worked for Harmon Electric Association for 41 years. Charles had worked his way up from lineman, to member services manager and was the General Manager and CEO. He married Jeri Allison in Hollis on March 5, 1976. Charles was a member of the Hollis First Baptist Church and enjoyed lifting weights, running, fishing, golfing and snow skiing.
His mother and stepfather, Mardena and Bill Paxton, his Mama and Papa, Verna and Thomas Prock, and his stepmother, Eloyse Whitson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jeri, of the home; a daughter, Kristi Horton and husband, Scott; son, Aaron Paxton and wife, Katie; six grandchildren, Kade, Kenzie and Kole Horton, and Jack, Henry and Maggie Paxton; his father and stepmother, Earl and Betty Whitson; brothers and sisters, Norma Baccus and husband, Rodney, Cindy Jones and husband, Tom, David Whitson and wife, Geraldine, Michelle Cochran and husband, Matt, April Perkins and husband, Ralph, and Wade Vandiver and wife, Lorye; and many other family and friends.
