Charlie Howard Bush

Charlie Howard Bush, 82, Olustee, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Olustee with Pastor Jimmy DeGreek and Erin Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the funeral home.

Charlie was born on August 2, 1940 in Altus, Oklahoma to Charlie Marshall and Susie (Smith) Bush. He grew up in Olustee and graduated high school in Olustee with the class of 1959. Charlie attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for three years where he met the love of his life, Jo Annette Evans. The two were wed on June 3, 1961 in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Charlie worked for Ryan Freight and Chief Freight in Durant for 21 years and Churchill Truck Lines in Sherman, Texas before moving back home to Olustee. He farmed all over Jackson County and worked at the same time for Jackson County District #3 for 17 years. He also worked cattle on his small farm north of Olustee. Charlie was a member of the Lions Club while he lived in Durant and a current member of the Olustee First Baptist Church. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music and gardening. He enjoyed raising cattle and spending time with his grandchildren.

His wife, parents, and a brother, Walter Bush, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Bush and Yvette Bush; two daughters, Charlotte Dickey and husband, Mike, and Kim Zabonik and husband, Jeff; three grandchildren, Ryan Hisaw and wife, Megan, Morganne Hisaw, and Marshall Zabonik; a great granddaughter, Katie Hisaw; and a sister-in-law, Willadean Bush.
