Charlotte Lee Moberly, 88, Altus, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in the Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Davis officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in the Calumet Cemetery, northwest of El Reno, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Charlotte Lee Jones was born on June 5, 1931 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Charles and Lorean (McCann) Jones. She graduated from El Reno High School and married Bernard W. Moberly on June 4, 1950 in El Reno. The Moberly family arrived in Altus on December 7, 1958. Bernie was business partner with the McMinn Oil Company, later to become Moberly Oil Company, the Shamrock dealers for southwest Oklahoma. Charlotte worked as a wife, mother and homemaker all her life and enjoyed camping, sewing, reading and home decorating. Both Bernie and Charlotte were members of Grace United Methodist Church and taught children’s Sunday school and were youth directors. Bernie joined the Methodist Men while Charlotte joined the United Methodist Women and the choir. Charlotte became a girl scout leader and was on the scout board. Bernie retired in 1980 and the two bought a motor home and traveled the US, driving to Alaska twice. Charlotte was a member of the Jackson County Home Economist and was the president from 1973 - 1975. She was also a member of the Western Prairie Good Samaritans, AARP and the Silver Belle's line dancers. Charlotte served with the "Pink Ladies" of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, delivered Meals on Wheels and drove bus for Southwest Transit.
Her parents, husband, a brother, Don Jones, and a granddaughter, Kalyn Dyan Huey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Kittie Huey and husband, Dr. David Huey, Susan Amstutz and husband, Mark, and Julie Adair; grandchildren, Megan Emhoff and husband, Seth, Derek Nunn and wife, Stacy Szabla, Andrea Nunn, Shane Campbell, Blake Adair and Laurel Adair; and 3 great grandchildren, Ella Hope, Cora Kalyn and Brooks Kendrick Emhoff.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2020 at the funeral home.
