Cherie Marie Haney, 66, Altus, passed away at her home on Friday, October 7, 2011. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Joe Poulin, James Poulin and Charles Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Cherie Marie Palmer was born on May 2, 1946 to Charles Willard and Betty Elizabeth (Burnette) Palmer in Ogdensburg, New York. After graduating high school, she obtained her Associates Degree in Psychology at Western Oklahoma State College. She worked for several years as a caretaker for the elderly. Cherie and Homer Rupert “Bud” Haney were united in marriage on September 8, 1979 at the Altus Air Force Base in Altus, OK. Cherie dedicated her whole life to her children and grandchildren. She raised her children to be good productive citizens. She was always interested in her family. Cherie collected dolls as a hobby and was a member of the Hill Haven Praise Center. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Willard Palmer, and her mother, Betty Elizabeth Palmer. Cherie is survived by her husband , Bud Haney, of the home; two daughters, Lisa Poulin and husband, Jason Ross, of Altus, OK, Elizabeth Haney and husband, Andrew, of Golden, CO; four sons, Joe Poulin and wife, Sonya, of Blair, OK, James Poulin and wife, Deann, of Skiatook, OK, Jeffery Poulin and wife, Kris, of San Diego, CA, and Jason Poulin and wife, Katrina, of Altus, OK; two sisters, Linnea Strien and Becky Forrester, both of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Steven Palmer of Gatlinburg, MD; eleven grandchildren, Dustin Poulin, Dylan Poulin, Jacob Poulin, Joshua Poulin, Branden Poulin, Madison Poulin, Collin Poulin, Becca Minor, Gabby Poulin, Alicia Humphry and River Heben; and three great-grandchildren, William Rhone, Cody Rhone and Skylar Rhone. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at the First Baptist Church, 300 N. Main Street, Altus, OK 73521. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, October, 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
