Christine Lee Weltz Long, 56, Altus, passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2021. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. Daniel Ingram will officiate. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Christine was born January 19, 1964 in New Martinsville, West Virginia to Michael and Connie (Smith) Weltz. Christine graduated high school in Paden City, West Virginia in 1982. Christine married Matthew Long May 28, 1987 at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dedicated to helping others from an early age, Christine elected to attend cosmetology school so she could work wherever the Air Force stationed the young couple. Christine enjoyed serving others. The Lord granted her numerous opportunities as she and her family lived in eight different locations before settling in Altus. As a member of various churches of Christ, she taught numerous Bible classes. She wanted children to understand the blessings found in Jesus Christ. Christine also loved to sing, prepare meals and visit the sick and the elderly. Christine took great delight in traveling, designing home interiors and spending time with family and friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her stepfather, Fred Thomas. She is survived by her father, Michael Weltz; her mother, Connie Thomas; her husband, Matt; her daughter, Madison Johnson and husband, Aaron; her son, Connor; two sisters, Kim Eckels and husband, Scott and Amanda Anderson and husband, Chris; one brother, David Weltz and wife, Kelly.
