Clariece Bennett

Clariece Hughes Bennett, 81, Altus, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jason Duree officiating. A private family inurnment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Frederick Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Clariece was born November 28, 1940 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Carl and Callie (Jett) Hughes. She graduated from Snyder High School with the Class of 1958 and had continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Clariece and Terry Bennett were married on January 2, 1959 in Snyder, Oklahoma and to this union four children were born. She was a loving wife and mother who worked as a seamstress at Kellwood’s in Altus, later providing day care in Altus. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and she enjoyed reading, making Christmas candy and spending time with her grandchildren.

Clariece was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Callie Hughes; her husband, Terry Bennett; her son, Dennis Bennett; her daughter, Sherida Littledeer; and her brother, Clayton Hughes.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carla Sharpe and husband, Barry, and Pamala Thacker and husband, Brent; five grandchildren, Amanda Tolman and husband, Kenny, Kristina Sharpe and husband, Justin, Callie Sharpe, Gage Thacker and Alison Thacker; three great grandchildren, Alexzander Raymond, Odessah Raymond and Brantley Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
