Clifford C. “Cliff” Glover, 86, Altus, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Cliff was born on January 13, 1925 to Henry and Maggie (Williams) Glover in Duke, Oklahoma. He graduated from Altus High School. Cliff served his country in the Army during WW II. He fought in Okinawa and was awarded the Purple Heart and one Battle Star. He was previously married and had two children, Linda and Jerry. He remarried Mildred Jean Wilcox on October 7, 1966 in Mangum, OK. Mildred and Cliff were married for 44 years, they built and owned a home on an acreage north of town. He was an employee for the post office for 29 years. Later he became a master electrician and operated Cliff Glover Electric. He worked as a fine electrician for more than 30 years. Cliff attended the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. He had an avid interest in American automobiles and all aspects of construction and home building. He is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters. Cliff leaves behind his wife, Mildred, of the home; one daughter, Linda Fancher and husband, Mike, of Edmond, OK; one son, Jerry Glover of Shreveport, LA; a sister, Loris Hall of Altus, OK; two step-daughters, Jean Eley of Houston, TX, and Patricia Moore and husband, Shelby, of Krugerville, TX; three grandchildren, Stephanie Becker of Luther, OK, Sterling Fancher of Edmond, OK, and Misty Briggs of Bossier City, LA; three step-grandchildren, David Moore of Houston, TX, Bonnie Endicott of Frisco, TX, and Melody Dungan and husband, Jay, of Frisco, TX; eight great grandchildren, Shyann, Samantha, Ada, Jonah, Eden, Parker, Seth and Emma; as well as several nieces and nephews. The Glover family will greet friends Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
