Clifton “Flash” Gordon, 98, Altus, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the Plantation Village Assisted Living. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Tamarack Road Church of Christ with John Cannon and Clint Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Flash was born on August 18, 1916 to Otha J. and Annie Liddie (Warren) Gordon in Alberta, Louisiana. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was in the 5th Armored Tank Division. Flash received numerous medals including the American Defense Service Medal, European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. He married Virginia Lucille Saunders on March13, 1943 in Lompoc, California. He was the co-owner of Southwest Metal and Trade for over forty years. Flash was a member of the American Legion and Tamarack Road Church of Christ and Charter member of the Park Lane and Thomas Street Churches of Christ. He loved his church work and was a part of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ Silver Saints. He enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing and traveling. He coached the American Legion baseball team years ago and enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Karen Quay Bornholdt, five brothers, Leonard, Tad, Nick, Mack and Fred, one sister, Maxine Hollis, and a host of good friends. He is survived by one daughter, Jinger Anne Brown and husband, Clyde, of Lewisville, TX; one sister, Ruth Shelley and husband, Jack, of Doyline, LA; four grandchildren, Robert Gordon Bornholdt and wife, Kristi, of Hobbs, NM, Gina Savage and husband, Luke, of Birmingham, AL, Brandon Brown and wife, Holly, of Abilene, TX and Lori Campbell and husband, David, of Krum, TX; nine great-grandchildren, Karli Jean, Gracie, Cole, Ellis, Reese, Skyler, Reagan, Brooke and Lane; and several other family and friends. The Gordon family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 29 at the Kincannon Gathering Room. Memorials may be made in Gordon’s name to the Westview Boys Home, 120 W.
