Connie Juanita Graves, 93, Altus, formerly of Hollis, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the English Village Manor. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Hollis First Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Lyles officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Connie Juanita Beanland was born on March 25, 1920 to Luther Warren and Susie (Hunter) Beanland at home in the Bethel Community, Oklahoma. Connie and O.D. “Slab” Graves were united in marriage on April 2, 1940 in the Bethel Community. She was a former member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where she played piano and taught Sunday School for many years. Connie brought many kids from Hollis to go to church with her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hollis. Connie enjoyed planting and tending her flower garden and sewing, but her true love was being with family and taking care of her grandchildren. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Lois Patrick. She is survived by her son, Perry W. Graves and wife, Roberta, of Blair, OK; a daughter, Marsha J. Jones of Blair, OK; grandchildren, Daren Jones and wife, Kristi, of Vinson, OK, Dawn Cargal and husband, Jud, of Blair, OK, Devin Graves and fiancée, Annissa, and her daughter, Avery, of Altus, OK, Holly Graves of Altus, OK, Shad Graves and wife, Jenny, of Altus, OK, Tanner Graves and wife, Amanda, of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren, Hunter Cargal, McKenna Cargal, Dayton Graves, Gavin Graves, Aviary Graves and Evelynn Graves.
