Daisy M. Dennis, 75, Altus, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2016 with Superintendent Robert Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Daisy M. (Nelson) Dennis was born to John Henry Nelson and Fredonia (Gaffney) Nelson on December 9, 1940. She was originally from Boswell, Oklahoma but later her family moved to Frederick, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Boyd High School where she excelled in basketball, softball and track. Following high school she continued her education in various forms. She met and married Floyd Crowley Sr. (whom preceded her in death) and they made their home in Altus, Oklahoma, while working at State Hospital in Vernon, Texas. Later in life, she met and married Willie Dennis (whom preceded her in death) and they made their home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. During her time in Chickasha, she continued to utilize her gift of working with elderly people at Grace Living Center for 26 years.

Mother Daisy accepted God as her personal Savior at an early age. While living in Chickasha, she was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served in many aspects. She was a faithful member, missionary, choir member and was always willing to do the work of the Lord. In 2011, she returned to Altus, Oklahoma and became a faithful member of Greater Love Ministries. She was a woman of strong faith, a praying woman, and a woman who always made time to stay in her “Word”. Mother Daisy had the ability to influence and encourage others to want to know more about Christ. Being a member of Greater Love Ministries, she always enjoyed listening to her pastor, Superintendent Robert Green, while also getting the opportunity to serve alongside her oldest daughter, Sis. Shirley.

Mother Daisy Dennis was a righteous, virtuous, faithful, God-fearing, respected and just an all-around amazing woman.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Siblings: Daniel Nelson of Altus, OK; Children: Shirley Durrough of Altus, OK, Floyd Crowley Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Virginia (Darryl) Stewart of Lawton, OK, Clarence Blunt of Altus, OK, Bennie (Derrick) Dean of Edmond, OK, Gary (Ana) Blunt of Edmond, OK, Jackie (Troy) Earthman of Phoenix, AZ, Benjamin Blunt of Seattle, WA, several bonus children, 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fredonia Nelson, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Heaven called up one of their best angels and she will be truly missed.
