Daisy Johnston

Daisy Johnston, 99, of Eldorado, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Kincannon Funeral Home chapel in Altus with Mr. Bobby Laws officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Daisy was born on May 18, 1912 to George and Minnie Marie Belle (Wells) Burkett in Keerier, Missouri. After her mother’s death at the age of 8, she was raised in an orphanage. She married Halleck Totten and to this union two children were born. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, and a member of Eldorado Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, dominoes, and playing cards. Daisy is preceded in death by her parents and spouse, Halik Totten. She is survived by her daughter Loretta McQuiggan and her husband Harvey of Altus, OK; her son, Stephen Totten, and his wife Sandra of St. Louis, MO; seven grand-children; Linda Silver and her husband Richard of Tampa, FL; Daniel McQuiggan and his wife Karen of Mustang, OK; Roxann Damron of Altus; Jackie Ward and her husband Ken of Maryland; Laura Weldon of Altus, OK; Steven Totten of St. Louis, MO; and Cynthia Baker of St. Louis, MO; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. The Johnston Family will greet friends Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
