Daniel Lee Perez, 46, Altus, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 23, 2020 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Richard Reyes and Ruben Ybarra officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Daniel Lee Perez was born on May 30, 1974 in Altus, Oklahoma to Lorenzo and Mary Ann (Valverde) Perez. He grew up in Olustee, Oklahoma and graduated from Olustee High School in 1992. In 1997, Daniel married Cara Castle and they gave birth to two sons, Brandon and Evan. In 2010, Daniel and Shelly Christian gave birth to a daughter, Jaden. In 2014, he and his life partner and best friend, Lynda, gave birth to a daughter, Danica. Daniel and Lynda also worked together to care for Danica’s siblings, Alex and Nick, and their granddaughter, Mercy, Alex’s daughter. Daniel was a self-employed business owner of D-N-J Concrete, LLC. He was an avid softball player whose love for the game influenced many generations of athletes. He also loved fishing, especially with his dad. Daniel enjoyed playing bass and guitar. As a child and young man, he played with his dad in family bands travelling from Texas to Kansas for many churches and revivals. He currently played and sang for the Strong Tower Ministries Praise and Worship Team.
His grandmother, Guadalupe Valverde; a son, Brandon Lee Perez; aunts, Lupe Valverde, Janie Macias, Celia Reyes, and a very special aunt, Mama Lupe Briones; and a niece and nephew, Chloe and Kalan Elmore, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Evan Joseph Perez; two daughters, Danica Lynn and Jaden Ruth Perez; his parents, Lorenzo and Mary Ann Perez; three sisters, Criscinda Perez, Janelle Perez and Cassidy Perez; many nieces and nephews; and his partner, Lynda Carrell. He also leaves behind many cousins, friends and teammates.
