Danny R. Story, 71, Eldorado, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life services with military honors will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Wylie officiating. Cremation will follow services under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Danny Ray Story was born May 25, 1945 in Quanah, Texas to Calvin and Ima (Adams) Story. He attended school in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1964. Danny served in Vietnam, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, and was honorably discharged in February of 1966. He moved back home to ranch on the family farms in Southwest Oklahoma near Eldorado. Danny ranched until the mid 70's and then was involved in the trucking business for the next 25 years. He married Edwayna Nichols August 14, 2002 in Altus, Oklahoma. Danny's passion was always cattle. He and Edwayna enjoyed each day together, building their cattle business for the last 15 years. Danny was of the Christian faith; enjoyed raising cattle; enjoyed watching his pet chickens and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig Story; two sisters, Calva Story and Mary Lou Story; and a brother, Gary O'Neal Story.
Danny is survived by his wife, Edwayna; daughter, Michelle Lorine Story Choat and her partner, Tony Choat; step daughter, Karen Michelle Graham and husband, Aaron; brother, Calvin Norman Story and wife, Pat; eight grandchildren, Zack Story, Victoria Hooper, Vivian Tinney, Calvin Tinney, Tyler Choat, Colby Choat, John Barrett Story and Colton Craig Story; a daughter-in-law, Danielle Story; an uncle, John Story; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The Story family will greet friends at the Kincannon Eldorado Chapel from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening and at the Kincannon Altus Chapel from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Days Inn to the South and Western Sizzlin' to the North.
