David Lee Davis, 70, passed away at his home in Altus, Oklahoma on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 26th at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
David was born on September 14, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Geneva (Hastings) Davis. He attended school in Blytheville, Arkansas before moving to SW Oklahoma in the middle of his senior year in high school where he graduated with the Navajo School Class of 1970. After graduation he joined the United States Army and faithfully served for over two years. David married Debbie Bell on April 4, 1980 in Blair, Oklahoma. He was the Chief of Material Control at Altus Air Force Base for most of his adult life. David was an avid OU Sooners Football fan, and he enjoyed history, drawing, and playing with their pet dog, Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his son, J.D. Davis; mother, Geneva Davis; sister, Janie Osborne; and mother and father-in-law, Barney and June Barnett.
Left to honor David’s memory are his wife of 42 years, Debbie; sons, Marc Edens and wife, Paula, and Shane Gemaehlich and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Kaysee Deffenbaugh, Cole Edens, Sean Edens and wife, Sam, Braden Edens, and Brea Edens; siblings, Steve Davis and wife, Alice, Vicki Shatswell and husband, Ronnie, Larry Davis and wife, Joni, Marti Gilley and husband, Mark, Gary Davis and wife, Darlene, Brien Davis and wife, Terri, and Stacey Davis; a whole bunch of nieces and nephews he loved and was so very proud of; and two best friends he loved and treasured, George Bookout and Charles Ortega.
