David Keith Jones

David Keith Jones, Sr., 72, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City. David stepped through the pearly gates of heaven and joined his beloved wife, Mary, just four weeks and two days after her departure from this life. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, September 27, at the Altus Church of God with Pastor Earnest Everman officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

David was born on March 18, 1952, to G. R. and Willie (Drinnon) Jones, in Elk City, Oklahoma. After his family relocated to the Altus area, David attended school in Friendship. David met his greatest love, Mary Jane Meeks, and they were joined in marriage in Altus, on June 23, 1972. He made a career of driving a truck, allowing her to stay home and always be there for their two children, Sherry and David, II. He was a faithful member of his church, whose presence brought joy to all who knew him. Throughout his life, David traveled the roads of the United States as a truck driver, exploring the country and sharing stories of his adventures.

David was an avid car enthusiast, with a passion for racecars and scrapping metal, always finding joy in working with his hands. His greatest pleasure, however, came from spending time with his family. Whether giving his grandkids rides on his motorized scooter or sharing his warm, loving spirit, David was truly a teddy bear at heart. 

David was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary; and his parents, G.R. and Willie. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry McFarland and husband, Robert; son, David Keith Jones, II; grandchildren, Ashley Fowler and husband, Kelby, Brittany Rios and husband, David, Gage Jones and fiancé, Caitlin Dufour, Tyler Jones and wife, Erica, and Gavin Jones and fiancé, Raney Gilreath; great grandchildren, Kelton, Kyzen, and Kannon Fowler, Dawson Rios, Jay Gamble, Addilyn Jones, and Luca Jones.
