David L. “Shorty” Castillo, Sr., 69, Blair, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Brother Reyes and Pastor Jesse Puentes officiating. Interment will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. David L. Castillo was born on June 30, 1945 to Ascencion and Benita (Lerma) Castillo in Monterrey, Mexico. David and Mary Magdalene Aguilar were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas on September 14, 1970. He was a member of the Blair First Baptist Church. He was a welder, plumber and a carpenter, as well as a volunteer police officer in Blair. Shorty enjoyed working on lawn equipment, cars, mowing lawns and working as a mechanic. He loved helping friends and the Blair Police Department. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, Margaret Reyes Castillo and Reynalda Castillo, two brothers, Ascencion Castillo and Robert Castillo, and two sisters, Febe Castillo and Cruz Sanchez. Survivors include one daughter, Rose Mary Castillo of High Point, NC; three sons, David Castillo, Jr. and friend, Bea Moncada, of Altus, OK, Louis Castillo of Blair, OK and Angel Castillo and friend, Nyrea Gastineau, of Blair, OK; thirteen grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; four sisters, Josefina Puentes and husband, Jose, of Frederick, OK, Rosa Luna and husband, Johnny, of Tipton, OK, Dora Garza of Frederick, OK and Nora Billarrial and husband, Joe, of Quanah, TX; four brothers, Alex Castillo and wife, Mary, of Vernon, TX, Samuel Castillo and wife, Josefina, of Cordell, OK, Noe Castillo and wife, Theresa, of Altus, OK and Israel Castillo and wife, Glenda, of Annaville, OK.
