Davonte Jerell Tyqwaun Branch, 24, Altus, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Dale Darnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Davonte was born on September 2, 1993 in Altus, Oklahoma to Nick Burris and Coretta Branch. He graduated from Altus High School in 2011 and entered the US Army on April 15, 2014. Davonte served his country and was honorably discharged on March 23, 2016. He received numerous medals and awards including the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. He was currently working for Bar-S at the time of his death. Davonte enjoyed being around his family, especially his brothers. He also enjoyed playing games and basketball.
Davonte was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Goodlow.
Survivors include his parents, Nick Burris and Coretta Branch; a sister, Deja Watson; two brothers, Nick Burris, Jr. and Jazerick Pitts; his grandparents, Clarene Branch and Charles Goodlow; great grandmother, Isabell Jackson; two nieces, Jaziah and Ira Burris; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
