Deporter Johnson, Sr.

DePorter Johnson, Sr., 90, Altus, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Dale Donnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

DePorter Johnson was born on December 7, 1926 in Atoka, Oklahoma to William and Leola (Sowells) Johnson. He married Debora Fixico on June 28, 1978 in Altus, Oklahoma. He worked as a moving company packer and truck driver for many years until his retirement. DePorter enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed fishing and yard work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Shirley Johnson and Laura Pierre, a son, Andrew Karl Johnson, a brother, Dewitt Johnson, and a sister, Norma Jean Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Debora, of the home; nine daughters, Dee Johnson, Delia McKeaver and husband, Cedric, Ruth Leigh and husband, Marvin, Qetesh Quazim, Darlene Johnson, Betty Gibson and husband, Stanley, Rose Evans and husband, Greg, Nadine Brown and Judy Vann; four sons, Dean Johnson, DePorter Johnson, Jr., Michael Johnson and wife, Laura, and Dennis Johnson; a sister, Ida B. Fuller; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
