Dessie ”Nonnie” Evatt, 91, Mountain View, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at English Village Manor. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Green Valley Cemetery, east of Mountain View, Oklahoma. Burial and services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. Dessie Reid was born on March 18, 1923 to George and Vera (Henson) Reid in Cooperton, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cooperton High School in 1941. Nonnie and Sam “Balis” Evatt were united in marriage on January 9, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was of the Christian faith. Nonnie enjoyed embroidering; dancing on Saturday night at Cooperton; growing flowers; and cooking everything from scratch. She was a homemaker and was extremely proud of her new home, she and Balis built in 1976, at Saddle Mountain. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Nonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Balis, in October of 1990; and a brother, Robert Reid. She is survived by a daughter, Vera Lynn “Meme” Williams of Altus, OK; three granddaughters, Regina Willsey of Fort Worth, TX, Trisha Baxter of Altus, OK and Christy Rylas and husband, Todd, of Ft. Worth, TX; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Ashlynn and Colton. She also leaves behind close friends, Billy and Bonnie Sims of Mountain View, OK, Van Sims of Mountain View, OK, Kristin Johnson of Altus, OK and Sophia Porter of Elgin, Oklahoma; as well a host of other friends. The Evatt family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 15 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
