Donald Bradley Briscoe was born November 30, 1934 at the home of his grandparents south of Olustee, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Dannie Isaac Briscoe and Thelma Bradley Briscoe. He left this life on December 13, 2011 in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow services at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Donald married Linda Kaufman, July 12, 1953 at the Olustee Baptist Church. They were married for 55 years until Linda's death on December 2, 2008. Donald began farming before he graduated from Olustee High School in 1952 at the age of seventeen. Donald farmed, worked in construction and Real Estate. He owned his own Real Estate and Auction business for several years before going to work for the State of Oklahoma Commissioners of The Land Office as a staff appraiser. He was a licensed Real estate Broker and Appraiser. In 1965 he was named the Outstanding Young Farmer by the Altus Jaycees. In 1992 he was recognized for "Outstanding Achievement in Land Management, by the Commissioners of the Land Office for the State of Oklahoma." He served as a six year member of the Olustee Schools Board of Education. Donald also served as Records Clerk for the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Olustee Baptist Church. Donald retired as Southwest Area Land Management Coordinator for the Commissioners of the Land Office, State of Oklahoma on January 30, 1997 , after 25 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Olustee Baptist Church. He loved and enjoyed his family, watching basketball and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Dannie and Thelma Briscoe, his wife Linda Briscoe and his sister Janice Briscoe Morrison. He is survived by his two sons Mickey Don Briscoe and wife Cathy of Altus, OK; Rodney Mark Briscoe and wife Melissa, Edmond, Oklahoma. Two grandsons 1st Lt Jason Briscoe currently serving the United States Army in Afghanistan and his wife Dena of Ft. Knox, Ky. and Christopher Briscoe of Oklahoma City. Two Great Grandchildren Grant Christian and Kylie Kay Briscoe of Ft. Knox, Ky. Two nephews, Randy Weber and Kerry Bell. Four nieces, Jackie Weber Kenmore, Debbie Pierce Martin, Deanna Pierce Largent and Melissa Briscoe Pierce. The Briscoe Family will greet friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
