Donald Long, 80, Blair, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Donald was born on February 19, 1942 in Altus, Oklahoma to Donnie “Donkey” and Flora “Honey” (Steen) Long. He attended Warren and Southside Schools, graduating in 1960. He served in the National Guard for a short time. Donald met the love of his life, Donna Kay Clark, on a blind date. After dating a few years, the two were married on August 21, 1969 in Vernon, Texas. Donald worked in the parts department at McPhearson Ford for 11 years and as a butcher at Safeway and Blair Food. He owned and operated Altus Meat for 10 years before retiring. Donald was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donna; a daughter, Tori Long; a son, Derek Long; three grandchildren, Kassandra Duke and husband, Brandon Freeze, Jacob Taylor, and Darius Long; and two great grandchildren, Bray Stephens and Frankie Freeze.
