Donald "Don" McKenzie, 82, Altus, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, in Mangum. Funeral services were scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery with military honors. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Donald Joseph McKenzie was born July 4, 1937 to Patrick and Genevieve (Lowney) McKenzie, in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated Lincoln, Nebraska High School in 1956, later earning his associates degree. Don served his country for ten years in the United States Navy and ten years in the United States Air Force. Don was Honorably discharged in 1982 as a Master Sergeant. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and doing lawn work. He loved spending time with friends and family.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rita McDonald.
He leaves behind his spouse, Sally, of the home; daughters, Carrie Houtchens and husband Jeff, Genevieve Henderson and husband William, Denise Yust and husband Jon, and Angel Eropkin and husband Nicholas; one son, Donald McKenzie, Jr.; six grandchildren, Harold, Heather, McKenna, Jadyn, Trenton and Joseph; and two great grandchildren, Chase and Zack.
A rosary will take place at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel 6:00 PM.
The McKenzie family will greet friends following the Rosary.
