Donald Raburn Morgan was born on June 18, 1938, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Charles Raburn and Mary Louise (James) Morgan. He attended school in Mangum. After graduation he enlisted into the 45th Infantry of the United States Army. He met Mary Leticia (Moakley) while stationed at Fort Devens in Massachusetts. The young couple married in Mangum on Labor Day of 1960.
After an honorable discharge from the Army, Donald worked as a butcher for United Grocery in Mangum until his retirement after 35 years. He and Mary raised three sons, James, Ivan, and John. Donald was a very private man. If he ever opened up that door of friendship, you had it for life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Donald passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Altus, Oklahoma at the age of 86.
His parents, Charles and Mary; and son , John Morgan preceded him in death. His memory will live on in his wife of 64 years, Mary; sons, James Morgan and Ivan Rowlings; grandchildren, James, Jr., Melia, Moriah, Amy, Amanda, and Nick; 19 great-grandchildren; and other family and faithful friends.
