Donel Lee Deweese, 79, Altus, passed away at his home April 1, 2016. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow services at 1:00 pm, Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.
Donel Lee Deweese was born January 26, 1937 to Waymond and Elizabeth (Clark) Deweese in Lester, West Virginia. Donel Deweese and Nelta Ray were united in marriage on March 21, 1958 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. To this union three sons were born. Mr. Deweese served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 until he was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant in 1974. He worked as a heating and air conditioning technician for over 20 years in Altus following his military retirement. He was also a member of the Good Sams Club; VFW; and was of the Baptist faith. Donel enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in-law, Fred Gorby, Jim Arnold and Junior Williams.
Don is survived by his wife, Nelta, of the home; three sons, Donel K. Deweese and wife Lesa; Mike Deweese and wife Leslie; Trevor Deweese and wife Kass; four grandchildren, Nicholas Deweese, Deonna Deweese, Chloe Zabala and husband, Mon-Christian and Kayle Croft; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosalie Wasson and Nila Arnold; sister-in-law, Connie Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Deweese family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
