Donnie Adams, 71, Tipton, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Frederick, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, August 10, 2014 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Donnie Louis Adams was born on May 23, 1943 to Hubert and Anna Mae (Beckner) Adams in Brian County, Oklahoma, the youngest of six children. He was raised in Elmer, Oklahoma and graduated from Southside School in 1961. He married JoAnn Manning on January 28, 1963 in Vernon, Texas. In 1970, he moved to Olustee, Oklahoma, where they raised two daughters, Rhonda and Cathy. Donnie worked most of the 1970’s for CF Mock Texaco, across the Red River bridge. He worked a short time in Vernon, TX, at the Chemical Plant. Donnie worked the rest of his years hauling cotton, plowing and swathing hay for Jim Briscoe in Hess, OK. Donnie loved to play dominoes with his brother, Roy, sister-in-law, Nita, and his nephew in Olustee, OK. He liked fishing, collecting things, playing cards, watching old westerns, writing poems and animals. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and sisters. He was hardworking, loving and very funny. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joyce, a brother, Roy, and a nephew, Donnie Dale Adams. He leaves behind two daughters, Rhonda Wilson and husband, Jerry, and Cathy Ornelas, both of Altus, OK; seven grandchildren, Holly Reddick and husband, James, of Lawton, OK, Joshua Gebeke, Jade Gebeke, Samantha Ornelas, Rosetta Cook, Johnny Ornelas and Dylan Steward, all of Altus, OK; five great grandchildren, Mariah, Macy, JJ, Bryson and Maxx; and three sisters, Dorothy Kendrix and husband, Donald, of Newcastle, OK, Doris Vardell and husband, Ted, of Amarillo, TX, and Mildred Reed of Altus, OK. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
