Doris Lavern Wallace

Doris Wallace, 93, Altus, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services have been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Martha Cemetery with Kevin Baker officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Kincannon Funeral Home. Doris Lavern Henderson was born on November 20, 1921 to William Elbert and Cora Pearl (Oringderff) Henderson in Hollis, Oklahoma. She graduated from Altus Hight School in 1939. Doris and Jesse R. Pigg were united in marriage in 1939 in Altus, Oklahoma. She later married Edwin N. "Pete" Wallace in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Doris was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Bitter Creek in Duke, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life. Doris also worked as a cashier for the Altus Air Force Base Snack Bar and Cattleman's Cafeteria. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, JRay Pigg; a daughter, Kathy Dawn Smith; and three sisters, Opal Burnett, Leona Ray and LaDeana Hinkle. She is survived by a daughter, Patti Lea Boaldin and husband, Al, of Denton, TX; two sons, David Pigg of Midland Park, NJ and Glenn "Ronnie" Pigg and wife, Theresa, of Madison, AL; a step-daughter, Barbara Head; ten grandchildren Yvonne Silsby, Stacy Smith, Michelle Parrow, Michael Pigg, Christina Heddings, Phillip Pigg, Ashli Morris, Audri Boaldin, Mike Swanson and Jake Taylor; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Zelma Edith Hunt of Sapulpa, OK; a brother, Carroll E. Henderson and wife, Pat, of Bixby, OK; and many other nieces and nephews.
